The door opens... a girl is standing in salwar suit...

Girl : Kaun?...

The person turns around...

Girl : Tu....

And she hugs the person... we see it’s Kumkum...

Girl : Kumkum... itne din baad... I mean... main.. mujhe yakeen nahi ho raha ... m so happy... par tujhe kaise pata chala ki main wapas aa gayi... abhi 1 hafta hi hua.. aur arey yeh saaman...?... ohh main bhi kitni paagal hun... andar aa.. phir baatein karte hain...

They move in... and close the door...

“Hmm ghar kaafi achcha hai...” says the guy...(Raj)

Sumit smiles...

Guy : For sure teri pasand se to nahi hui hogi yeh decoration... m sure.. bhabhi ne kiya hoga.. waise wo hain kahan?... kam se kam mujhe milwa to unse... sirf suna hi hai unke baare mein... ghar pe nahi hain kya?...

Sumit (hesitating) : Tu baith to.... aate hi apni bak-bak shuru kar di...

Kumkum sits down... and luks around the house...

Kumkum : Hmm ghar kaafi achcha decorate kiya hai tune...

Sudha (comes with water) : Thanku... ab US se course kiya hai.. to itna to kar hi sakti hun...

Kumkum( smiles and takes water) : Par ek hafte mein?...

Sudha : Nahi yeh designs maine pehle hi yahan ...wo Mahesh Uncle hain naa... arey wahi jinki firm hai..

Kumkum : Ohh haan haan...

Sudha : Unhe hi mail kar diye the... kyunki course khatam hone waala tha and waapas aana hi tha... to koi rehne ki jagah to honi hi chahiye...bas isiliye... Par tujhe mera pata kaise mila?...

Kumkum : Mary aunty se... unhone bataya ki tune apna address unke pass likhvaya tha... taaki wo mujhe de sake...

Sudha : Ohh haan main bhi naa kitni bhullakad hun... Hmm gayi thi main unke pass.. par unke pass tera address tha hi nahi.. to maine socha tu jab bhi unse contact karegi... to mera address at least tujhe mil jaaye...Khair yeh chod aur bata... Sumit kaisa hai?... Dekh naa... tum dono ke pyaar ke baare mein sabse zyaada mujhe hi pata tha... aakhir teri room-mate jo thi... par kabhi us se mil nahi paayi... aur chance ki baat jis din teri shaadi thi us ke ek din pehle mujhe US jaana pada... Par ab aa gayi hun naa... ab zarur milungi...

Saying this she laughs... then her eyes fall on her luggage...

Sudha : Achcha Kumkum... yeh saaman... Sumit se ladai ho gayi kya? (she says teasingly)

“We are divorced now...” Says Sumit...

Raj : What????????....

“Abhi apne divorce papers sign karke aa rahi hun...” Says Kumkum... standing near the window...luking outside..

Sudha goes near her and stands quietly for some time...

Sudha : Aa tujhe tera room dikha dun...

Kumkum luks at her and then follows her...

Raj sits on the bed...

Raj : Sumit par tune kaha tha teri love-marriage hai... fir yeh sab???..

Sumit stays quiet...

Raj : Kuch to bol... tu are Kumkum kaise mile... kab... mujhe to kuch pata bhi nahi hai.. Aur aisa kya hua jo tum dono.... achanak aise alag ho gaye...

“Achanak kuch nahi hua Sudha”... Says Kumkum... and comes and sits on the bed...

Sudha was listening quietly to her...

Kumkum continues...

“ Hamara alag hona taiy tha... usi tarah... jis tarah hamara milna taiy tha...”

Saying this a handsome guy starts moving towards his bike.... and sits... It’s Sumit...

“Sumit plzz yaar ab itna bhi bhav mat khaa...”

Sumit stares the other guy...

Guy : I mean.. I know... us principal ne apne relative ko bhejne ke liye tera naam competition se katvaya tha... par dekh naa shaayad bhagwaan khud chahte the ki tum hi is competition ke liye jao.. tabhi to kal hi us ladke ka accident ho gaya... aur finally tujhe jaane ka mauka mil raha hai... ::

Sumit takes out his goggles and puts them.. :B-):

Sumit (smiles): Thanks... : (stops smiling) but no thanks... mujhe nahi chahiye koi mauka... I am not going.. please get it very clearly from me... :8-|:

Saying this he starts his bike and moves on...

His friends keep calling him... but he doesn’t stop...

A girl : Manav tum jaante ho Sumit kitna ziddi hai... mujhe nahi lagta wo jaayega.. :-/:

A guy : Haan.. par wo ziddi hone ke saath saath moody bhi hai... agar uska mood badal gaya to wo zarur jaayega... I just hope aisa ho jaaye...

He is riding the bike.... when at a signal he has to stop... he was luking around when his eyes fall on something in his rear view mirror... he luked closely... they were... a girl’s eyes.. he tilted his mirror a little to see the face.. but the mirror being loose, got tilt at a wide angle... showing him , her smile... he smiled with her... then turned to see her but as she was sitting in the auto... and there was traffic so he couldn’t... he again turned towards his mirror to tilt again... but the signal opened and he had to move... he stopped on one side... after a distance... but had lost her... he then moved to his house... ::

Sumit reaches his house and throws his jacket... and lies down on the bed... he closes his eyes... and he sees that smile and eyes... he smiles still closing his eyes... He picks up his guitar and starts playing it... then his mobile rings... he picks up... ::

On the other side : Sumit... to kya decide kiya tune? Tu kal competition mein aayega...?

Sumit (being in a gud mood) : Haan... of course... :

Saying this he disconnects...

The guy : Thank God... uska mood badal gaya... jis cheez ne bhi uska mood badla... thanks to it... hunhhhh.. chalo ab tension khatm... Now kal ka prize to pakka...

Next day...

Sumit and his friends are sitting together... and they are sitting.. in the auditorium where the music competition is to be held..His friends are busy talking while he is simply playing guitar softly... then he keeps his guitar aside and turns towards his friends...

Then he hears a noise , he turns quickly, there were some cardboard boxes, with some sketches and paints, colors, fallen on the ground... a girl sitting next to it... facing other side.... and he sees his guitar fallen beside her.. Actually she had dashed with his guitar.. and fallen on the ground with the stuff...

Sumit gets up angrily... (:

Sumit : What the hell... Tumhe dikhai nahi deta.. Tumne mera guitar... (:

He stops as the girl turns towards him removing frills of her hair from the above of her eyes....

Sumit keeps luking at her... actually her eyes... yes... they were the same... which he saw... yesterday.. the same lips... ::

The girl tries getting up but slips again... when she falls again then Sumit snaps out.. and gives out his hand to her... She luks at him... then slowly holds his hand and gets up but due to the slippery area.. she gets a little disbalanced but Sumit holds her by waist... they are eye-locked... :

“Sumit...”

They snap out and leave each other...

The girl: M.. m really sorry... wo yahan ka area itna slippery tha ki... I got disbalanced... itne saare saaman ke saath... m really sorry... (she luks at the guitar) ohh aapka guitar... :

She bends and picks up,

Girl : Yeh lijiye... dekh lijiye kuch kharaab to nahi hua...

But Sumit was unable to take his eyes off her... :

Gir l : Dekhiye I know meri galti hai... par m really sorry.. kuch bhi jaanbujh ke nahi kiya... main bas...

Sumit’s friend : It’s okk... idhar dijiye...

He says a lil rudely, then Kumkum quietly starts picking up things... her colors, paints and everything... Sumit sits beside her and helps her...

She luks at him and he smiles... They are again eye-locked... ::

“Kumkum...”

The girl turns... A few girls , standing at a distance... were calling her... she luks at Sumit...

Kumkum : Thanks... :

She takes her things and leaves... Sumit still didn’t take his eyes off.. Kumkum reached the gate of auditorium but before getting, turns around and luks at Sumit... ::

Then her friends pull her out....

Sumit’s friends call him and take him away...

Sumit turns but then he notices something... and turns back... he sees something on the floor... he goes near and sits down, picks it up... he turns it around and then says...

Sumit: Yeh kya hai?... Umm.. ID card...

“Haan haan ID card... bina uske aap competition mein hissa nahi le sakti...” says a man...

Kumkum and her friends are standing...

A girl : Hadd karte hain aap... jo students doosre college se aaye hain wo participate Karen... par hume hamare hi college ke competition mein participate karne ke liye ID card ki zarurat padegi...

Person : Dekhiye behes karne ka koi faayda nahi... bina ID card ke aap hissa nahi le sakti bas...

Kumkum gets very upset...

The girl : Kumkum... yaad karne ki koshish kar ki tune ID card kahan rakkha tha? Tu hostel se leke to aayi thi naa?

Kumkum ( quite upset and her eyes almost teary) : Haan mujhe bohut achche se yaad hai... main laayi thi... bag mein hi rakkha tha... fir nikala hi nahi... bas jab yahan aane lagi tab ..

She stops...

Kumkum : Ek sec... ID card tab to nahi gira jab main B-block auditorium mein giri thi..

Girl : Haan ho sakta hai... chal jaldi shaayad wahin ho...

Person : Koi faayda nahi wahan par music competition shuru ho chuka hai... aur gate band kar diya gaya hai...

Kumkum looses the ray of hope again... she quietly goes and sits outside in the hall... and tears pour down her cheeks...

“Aapka ID card...”

Someone says this and she sees her ID card infront of her... She quickly takes it.. and gets up and sees the same guy standing infront of her... Sumit...

Kumkum : Aap... thanku... thanku so much...

She says excitedly... and quickly wipes her tears... she then turns to go... but stops.. turns towards him..

Kumkum : Mera competition 2 ghante mein khatm ho jaayega... auditorium se exit door ka raasta us taraf hai...

Sumit looks at the way and then at her...

Sumit : All the Best...

Kumkum smiles and runs...

Kumkum comes out excited... her friends were waiting outside...

A girl : Kumkum.. kya hua?.. bata na...

Kumkum : Aur kya hoga... main jeet gayi... yessss... I stood first...

They hug each other... and are very happy....

A friend : chal ab treat de...

Kumkum is about to agree... but then stops as she remembers about Sumit...

Kumkum : ermmm.. aaj nahi... kal de dun...?

A friend: Kyun?... Dekho bachne ka koi raasat nahi... treat to tumko deni hogi...

Kumkum : To maine kab manaa kiya?... bas aaj kuch kaam hai... plzzzz..

Another friend : Haan haan koi baat nahi... aaj nahi kal sahi.. chal bye...

She bids adieu to all the friends and turns around... and starts looking for Sumit...

“Mujhe dhoondh rahi ho?”...

She turns and sees Sumit standing infront of her... she gets a lil embarassed and Sumit approaches her slowly..

Sumit : So... u won?

Kumkum : Hmm... haan...

He brings his hand out and says,

Sumit : Congratulations...

She keeps her hand into his... Sumit holds it... and she luks at him...

Kumkum ( snapping out) : Ermm... wo mere kuch dost meraintezaar kar rahe honge... mujhe chalna chahiye...

Sumit : Par abhi to aapne unse kaha ki aapko zaruri kaam hai to aap unse kal milengi?

Kumkum goes red....Sumit smiles...

Sumit : By the way mera poora naam Sumit Wadhwa hai... n urs?

Kumkum : Kumkum.. Kumkum Mishra.

Sumit : Kumkum... aapko nahi lagta hum raaste mein khade hain..

Kumkum : Ohh haan...

They start coming out of the auditorium still talking..

Sumit : To aapke dost treat maang rahe the?

Kumkum nods...

Sumit : Kabse painting kar rahi hain aap...?

Kumkum : Kumkum.. mera naam Kumkum hai...

Saying this, they look at each other... and again continue their walk..

Sumit : Kabse painting kar rahi ho?... aur yahan pe kaunsa course kar rahi ho?

Kumkum : Mera yahan graduation ka last year hai.. bas xams ho chuke hain result bhi aata hoga.. aur painting to main bohut chote se karti aa rahi hun.. Waise tum yahan kya kaise?

Sumit : Music competition mein participate karne aaya tha...

Kumkum stops suddenly...

Kumkum : Music... par wo jab shuru hua tab tum mere saath the.. phir...

Sumit : Agar tumhe tumhara ID card nahi milta... to tum participate nahi kar paati naa..

Kumkum : Par... tumne apna competition miss kyun kiya?

Sumit : Ummm shaayad main kisi aur ko jeetate hue dekhna chahta tha ...

They keep looking at each other...

Sumit : Ermmm mera matlab.. main participate karta to main fir jeet jaata... so I gave a chance to someone else..

Saying this he moves on... Kumkum quietly follows him...

They reach the bus-stand...

Kumkum : Mujhe yahan se bus mil jaayegi ... aur tum...

Sumit : Mere friends aate hi honge.. Tum BBA ke baad kya karogi?

Kumkum : MBA...par is college se nahi... kahin aur se..

Sumit : Kisi aur college se?

Kumkum : nahi... kisi aur jagah se...

Sumit keeps looking at her...

Sumit : Kisi aur jagah?...

Kumkum : Hmmm... Bohut si jagah apply kiya tha... jahan se bhi reply aayega... wahin chali jaongi...

Then a bus comes...

Kumkum : Meri bus aa gayi..

She boards the bus... Sumit keeps looking at her... even she gets in and keeps looking at him... and waves to bid adieu...

When the bus goes he snaps out...

Sumit : Ohh noo... maine uska contact number bhi nahi liya...

Kumkum opens the curtain and Sudha stands up.. and goes near her...

Kumkum : Usi din mera application letter aa gaya... aur main Mumbai aa gayi.. kyunki 2 din mein registration bhi karana tha... Result bhi by post mangwaya... Us din ke baad college hi nahi jaa paayi...

“To tu college nahi gaya?”.. Says Raj..

Sumit : gaya tha agle din... par tab tak wo jaa chuki thi.. uske baad bhi bohut dhoondha par nahi mili...

“Milna to taiy tha hi...”... says Kumkum...

Kumkum : ... Delhi mein na sahi.. Mumbai mein hi sahi...
