A heavy voice roared the name ...
A girl : Ma’am wo bas aa rahi hai..
Lady : Kab se yahi sun rahi hun... aisi kya tabiyat kharaab hai ki itna waqt lage... hmm
Kumkum : Ma’am...
The lady and other girls turn towards the voice...and we see Kumkum standing in a blue coloured suit , looking beautiful but pale...
Lady : Kal tum 8 baje aayi ho... kya main jaan sakti hun kyun?
Kumkum (in a low voice) : Ma’am... main Universal Library mein thi... project kar rahi thi.... aur fir... auto milne mein time lag gaya...
Lady : Mujhe ye bekaar ki baatein nahi sunni... yeh pehli aur aakhiri baar bol rahi hun...ab aisa hua to seedha subah aake apna saaman utha lena.. Sab ladkiyan sun le... Hostel ke gates ab se 7:30 pe band ho jaayenge... samajh gayi....
Everyone nods....
Then the lady leaves...
Sudha goes near Kumkum...
Sudha : Kumkum... chal...
She takes Kumkum in their room...
Sudha angrily throwing her dupatta after making Kumkum sit on the bed...
Sudha : Maine tujhse pehle hi kaha tha... ki yeh hostel chod dete hain... warna yeh warden hume nahi chodegi... She is so insensitive...
Kumkum : Ohho ab isme meri bhi to galti hai naa... mujhe nahi aana chahiye tha 8 baje tak...
Sudha : Arey tu beemar hai iska bhi lihaaz nahi.... I just hate her...
Kumkum smiles and says : ab so jaa... gussa mat kar...

Next day,
Sudha gets up and sees Kumkum is ready and is arranging the bed...
Sudha: Gudmorning... Tu subah subah kahan ke liye taiyyar ho rahi hai...?
Kumkum : college ke liye....
Sudha (gets up quickly) : U’r kidding right... itni beemari pet u college jaayegi... hunhhhhh?
Kumkum : Am better now... aur aaj 3rd n 4th lecture bohut important hain yaar...
Sudha : Kumkum...
Kumkum keeps doing her work... and Sudha knew she wont listen...
Sudha : Alright... to tu 2 ghante baad college aa jaana... itni subah subah nahi...
Kumkum : 2 ghante baad... par...
Sudha : Dekh maine teri baat maan li naa... now ur turn... 3rd n 4th lecture mein pohunchna hai na... so u better cum later... ya main bhi tere saath der se aaon...?
Kumkum : Nahi... tu jaaa.. main baad mein aa jaongi...
Sudha : good...
Sudha goes to the washroom... and Kumkum sits down quietly...

Kumkum is walking on the side of the road... luking here and there... as it was a hot day... it made her more exhausted...
Kumkum(to herself) : Aaj koi auto kyun nahi dikh rahi...
Then, walking, she reaches the auto stand... she goes near an auto... and is about to sit...
Autowala : Kahan madam... aaj auto ki hadtaal (strike) hai....
Kumkum is more upset now... she again starts walking... and somehow reaches the bus-stand... fully exhausted...
Kumkum (to herself) : waapas chali jaon kya?... (pause) ab itni door aa gayi hun to... college hi chali jaati hun...
She was waiting... a bus comes... and everyone starts getting in... and she couldn’t...
Kumkum : Unnhhhhhh....
She is frustrated now... the bus had gone...
Kumkum : Din hi kharaab hai... auto ki strike... bus nahi mili.. aur upar se itni garmi... ab aadhe raaste mein hun... waapas hostel ya college...
She tries walking... but felt weak... and giddy... a blank was infront of her eyes... she just held something and became unconscious..

Kumkum opens her eyes... and luks around slowly... she discovers that she is in a hospital and a nurse was keeping her medicines...
Kumkum : Sister... main yahan kaise aayi?... main raaste mein... aahhhh (she holds her head, while getting up)
“Areyyy... leti raho...” Saying this someone holds her hand...
She, kind of, recognizes the voice... and turns towards the person...
It’s none other than Sumit... She remembers their first and the only meeting... the way she fell.. and then he helped her by giving ID card.. then their goodbye.....
Sumit : Kya hua?... Aise kya dekh rahi ho?... Mujhe pehchaan to liya naa...
Kumkum : Sumit...
Sumit : Thank God... Mujhe to ummeed hi nahi thi kit um mujhe pehchanogi... khaas kar jis tarah tum bina kuch bataye chali gayi thi...
He says the last words in a soft way... luking into her eyes...
Kumkum lowered her gaze..
Sumit made her sit properly and sits on the chair near the bed...
Sumit : Waise tumne shaayad taiy kar liya hai ki tum hamesha mujhse takra ke girogi aur milogi...hmmm?
Kumkum (confused) : Matlab???...
Sumit tells her how they met again...
Kumkum feeling dizzy... and losing conscious , she holds ‘something’... actually she keeps her hand on Sumit’s shoulder.. and he turns quickly and she falls , Sumit holds her and sits...
Sumit : Aur phir main tumhe yahan le aaya...
Kumkum : Thanku... (pauses) par kaise?.. I mean aaj to auto ki strike hai naa... to phir...
Sumit takes out some keys...
Sumit : Meri jeep ki keys... Hope this answers..
Kumkum smiles... Sumit joins in...
Kumkum (stops smiling and says slowly): Sorry... wo main.. mujhe aise nahi jaana chahiye tha bina bataye.. par sab kuch itna achanak hua ki...
Sumit : It’s okk... koi baat nahi... don’t worry... main yeh galti dobara nahi hone doonga... (Kumkum looks at him...and he smiles naughtily) Dobara nahi jaane dunga..
Kumkum is embarrassed..
Sumit : anyways... umm... kisi ko inform karna hai... to bolo kar dun...
Kumkum : Hmm meri friend.. I mean meri room-mate hai hostel ki ... Sudha... ermm.. par abhi wo college mein hogi... koi baat nahi.. tum chaho to chale jao... wo sham tak aa hi jaayegi.. to main...
Sumit : .... Aur tumse kisne kaha ki main abhi jaa raha hun?
Kumkum : Main kuch samjhi nahi...
Sumit : Maine isliye poocha tha ki agar ghar pe batana hai to bol do... warna gharwaale pareshaan honge...
Kumkum : Mera koi nahi hai... Bachpan se hi masi ke saath rahi... aur 1 saal pehle unka accident ho gaya aur...
Her voice cracks...
Sumit (slowly keeps his hand on hers) : Bhagwaan ne shaayad ek bohut achcha saathi likha ho tumhare naseeb mein... taaki tumhe kisi ki bhi kami mehsoos na ho..
Kumkum looks at him... then slowly takes her hand away... and wipes her tears...
Kumkum : Achcha tum yahan kaise?...
Sumit : Job ke liye aaya hun... abhi to kuch time ke liye temporary basis hai... fir permanent kar denge..
Kumkum : Ohhh wowww... congrats... mera second year hai... aur.. aur itna important lecture tha...
Sumit : Kumkum.. tum yahan hospital mein ho... aur tumhe lecture ki padi hai... ajeeb ho... khair chodo... tum yahin ruko main doctor se mil ke aata hun... tumhare discharge papers leke aur medicines bhi... theek hai...
Kumkum : Tum kyun pareshaan ho rahe ho... tum ek kaam karo Sudha ko inform kar do... wo aa jaayegi naa..
Sumit kept standing, folding his hands ...
Sumit: Ho gaya... ab mujhe jo karna hai karne do... aur tum chup chaap aaram karo... main abhi aata hun...
Then he goes.... Kumkum keeps looking at him going.
